The NZIF Foundation, established by the New Zealand Institute of Forestry in December 2011, is dedicated to the advancement of forestry education. Our mission encompasses various initiatives aimed at fostering forestry-related research, education, and training through grants, scholarships, and prizes.

Foundation’s Objectives

The Foundation actively promotes the acquisition, development, and dissemination of forestry-related knowledge and information. We operate under a broad definition of “forestry,” encompassing all activities related to the management and utilization of forests and their products. This inclusive approach ensures our ability to support diverse forestry endeavors in New Zealand, catering to both wood production and other purposes.

Supporting Forestry Education

We rely on donations to sustain and expand our contributions to forestry education in New Zealand. Your support, whether small or large, enables us to offer more scholarships and grants, empowering aspiring forestry professionals to pursue their educational goals.

For inquiries regarding larger donations earmarked for specific purposes, please reach out to the Foundation Chair.
